GRTC offers an annual scholarship to an Inner-City high school senior as a means of encouraging the pursuit of higher learning and providing financial assistance to college bound students.  The applicant must attend a Boston public high school and has excelled both on and off the field, while meeting all other requirements.
 
Prerequisites for GRTC Scholarship, 2009
  • GRTC Scholarship 2009 is opened to an Inner-City senior enrolled in a Boston public high school.  
     
  • A track & field participant, Junior and Senior years.
     
  • In good academic standing at the end of the senior
    year.
     
  • Will matriculate in a community or four year college
    in September, 2009.
     
  • Letters of recommendation from a teacher and track
    & field coach, if a selected finalist.
     
  • Will compete &/or volunteer in GRTC Classic (June'09)
    & participate in the Summer Program (July-Aug'09).

    Track and Field Participation
    State track & field information in the following order:
    1) Year (Fresh, Soph, Jr, Sr)
    2) Season (X-country, Indoors, Outdoors)
    3) Events & best performance


    Track and Field Achievements
    State all high school track & field achievements and recognitions,
    such as City and State meet participation and school records.

    GRTC Volunteer
    Provide a summary of how you could best contribute to GRTC and its programs in the summer of 2009.

    Within 7 days of being notified as a finalist, the applicant must provide proof of acceptance to the college in which (s)he will enroll in September, 2009, and a recommendation from both a high school teacher and a track & field coach.
